Capturing Love in the Desert: A Joshua Tree Engagement Photo Adventure

Updated: Oct 30, 2024

A glimpse into a fantastic weekend getaway in the desert of Joshua Tree, California.

In March, I was blessed to be flown out to Southern California and spend the weekend in the desert. The purpose - the coolest engagement photos of the coolest couple. But first, the Journey. Here's a recap of my magical weekend in the desert, spent with the most magical friends.

Driving in during the Night

Starry night sky over Joshua Tree National Park with silhouetted Joshua trees, and rock formations in the foreground.

I hit some travel delays at the airport, and we hit some traffic heading towards the desert but made the best of it by sharing stories. I took advantage of the open skies and after setting up camp, I set up my camera. This was my first time attempting to capture the stars. I had done the moon before but this was different. I think I succeeded in my attempt and I love the silhouette of this Joshua Tree.

Mornings = Coffee

You have to visit this amazing coffee company when you're in Joshua Tree

You can not miss out on Joshua Tree Coffee Co. Just put the name in your GPS when you have service, and it is right off the highway. Parking is interesting and there is a line, and 100% worth the wait. You can buy drinks to go and fresh grounds for yourself or as a souvenir. My go to order anywhere is a Vanilla Iced Latte, they did not disappoint. Careful though and hooray for any caffeine addicts like myself, if you get the large size it comes with 4 shots of espresso, so be warned if you're sensitive.

Cute pit stop - World Famous Crochet Museum

Okay - so I had check out this Insta famous World Famous Crochet Museum and it did not disappoint with its cute uniqueness.

Colorful World Famous Crochet Museum in Joshua Tree, a quirky, green attraction showcasing unique crochet art and vintage crafts.

We parked at Coyote Corner - another can't miss stop - and walked parallel to Division St. until we stumbled upon it. To be completely honest, I thought it was in a different area and need to work on my map reading skills when it comes to desert landscapes.

More to come soon!
